<br />BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING ON MARCH 17, 2025 <br /> <br /> <br />D.1 Minutes from the March 3, 2025, City Council Meeting <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the above minutes as presented. <br /> <br />F.1 Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network Annual Report – Chair Chuck Haas <br /> <br />Chair Chuck Haas will update Council on the Hugo Yellow Ribbon Network and present <br />certificates of appreciation to Burger Night Sponsors. <br /> <br />F.2 Washington County Assessors Update - Appraisers Dan Squyres and Tyson Terry <br /> <br />Washington County Residential Property Appraiser Tyson Terry will provide Council an update <br />on the County and Hugo property assessments in preparation for the Local Board of Appeals and <br />Adjustments meeting on April 3, 2025. Commercial Appraiser Dan Squyres will also be in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />F.3 Hugo Fire Department Annual Report – Fire Chief Jim Compton, Jr. <br /> <br />Fire Chief Jim Compton will present the Hugo Fire Department 2024 Annual Report <br /> <br />F.4 M Health Fairview Annual Report – District Chief Kevin Kane <br /> <br />District Chief Kevin Kane will present the MHealth Fairview Annual Report. <br /> <br />F.5 Presentation and Approval of Donation to Hugo Fire Department from Hugo <br />Firefighter Relief Association – President Chief Dave Jensen <br /> <br />Over the past several years, the Hugo Firefighters Relief Association has held various events to <br />raise funds to purchase equipment for the Hugo Fire Department. Most recently, they hosted an <br />annual golf fundraiser that has helped us raise over $28,000. The Relief Association would like <br />to donate $40,000 to the Fire Department to add to the fund for the purchase of a training prop. <br />President Dave Jensen will present a check to the Hugo Fire Department for $40,000. All <br />donations to the Fire Department must be approved by the Council. Staff recommends Council <br />approve the donation. <br /> <br />G. 1 Approval of Claims <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council approve the Claims Roster as presented. <br /> <br />G.2 Approve Special Event Permit for Hero Gravel Classic Bike Ride on August <br /> <br />Fred Stori from the Chilkoot Velo Cycling Club of Stillwater has applied for a Special Event <br />Permit for the Hero Gravel Classic Bicycle Ride to be held on August 23, 2025. The event is a <br />50-mile bicycle ride on gravel and paved roads beginning and ending at the Bavarian Hunter <br />Gasthaus Restaurant in Stillwater. A Special Event Permit approved by Council is necessary <br />because there may be up to 300 people participating. Staff recommends Council approve the <br />Special Event Permit for the Hero Gravel Classic Bicycle Race on August 23, 2025, subject to <br />the conditions in the staff memo.
