2026 Fee Schedule <br />Page 2 <br />issued. Staff is recommending discontinuing the fee and ending the issuance of the $5.00 neighborhood park shelter <br />reservation permits. The administrative time required to process and manage the reservation system outweighs the <br />benefits. The picnic shelter at the Peder Pedersen Pavilion will continue to be rentable, but all other park shelters are <br />available for public use on a first-come, first-served basis. <br />CONCLUSION <br />Staff is cognizant that fees cannot be excessive. In fact, state law restricts the setting of fees in excess of the cost of <br />providing the corresponding service and in some instances the fees are contained in state statutes. Staff has reviewed <br />each of our fees to ensure compliance with state restrictions. <br />To reiterate, the City Council directed staff to review these fees and recommend changes annually.
