2026 Goals <br />Economic Development Authority (EDA) <br />•Complete 165th Street AUAR related to infrastructure improvements and future land <br />use. <br />•Stay engaged in ordinance revisions pertaining to residential and commercially zoned <br />property and make recommendations on land uses. <br />•Encourage redevelopment and beautification of properties in the downtown area. <br />•Continue working with developers interested in the City owned property and complete <br />redevelopment plan. <br />•Complete amendments to the shoreland ordinance with implementation flexibility. <br />•Evaluate completion of a commercial market study. <br />Development and Downtown Redevelopment <br />•Continue to offer low development costs. <br />•Engage with existing businesses to promote business expansions and <br />retention. <br />•Continue to be a resource for existing and new businesses. <br />•Promote Washington County CDA grants and Open to Business <br />Program. <br />Maintain a Business Friendly Environment <br />• <br />• <br />Continue memberships in economic development related associations. <br />Stay informed on the progress of the Technology Corridor (I35E) <br />planning and the extension and construction of Otter Lake Road. <br />•Continue to encourage and monitor infrastructure improvements to <br />promote economic development. <br />Marketing / Promotion of the City <br />•Continue partnering with local businesses and the HBA. <br />•Continue to partner with Washington County CDA on its Economic <br />Development Strategic Plan. <br />•Work with property owners and buyers in the sale of commercial and <br />industrial properties. <br />Partnerships
