<br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF HUGO <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> <br /> <br />TO: Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br /> <br />FROM: Rick Kieffer, Public Works Parks Lead Worker <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Purchase of 2026 Ferris Zero Turn Mower <br /> <br />DATE: For the City Council Meeting of April 6, 2026 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />In 2005, the City purchased a Toro zero turn mower with bagger from Hugo Power and <br />Equipment for maintaining City parks and facilities. This mower has been in service for <br />21 seasons and is at the end of its useful life. The staff is looking to replace the mower <br />and is recommending a Ferris zero turn mower with an EZ dump hopper. <br /> <br />The mower listed on the quote from L.T.G. Power Equipment has been reviewed with <br />the Finance Department and money is included in the 2026 CIP budget to cover this <br />purchase. Staff have compared both Toro and Ferris mowers and received quotes from <br />other dealerships. <br /> <br />Public Works staff are seeking Council authorization for the replacement of the existing <br />2005 Toro mower with bagger. If approved by the City Council, this mower would be <br />purchased using the Mn/DOT Cooperative Purchasing Venture (CPV) contract assuring <br />that the City of Hugo will receive the best price available while providing us with the <br />necessary options to choose from. <br /> <br />DESIRED ACTION <br /> <br />Staff recommends the City Council authorize the purchase of a Ferris ISX3300 60” zero <br />turn mower with EZ dump hopper as outlined in the quote from L.T.G. Power Equipment <br />in the amount of $22,618.00. <br />
