Minutes of the Hugo Park Commission December 29, 1998 <br /> Members absent: Frank Puleo - Planning Commission, open spot from City Council <br /> Updates: Laurie McRostie is scheduled to assist our commission during the 1999 <br /> calendar year. <br /> Kathy Marier put in a claim of $55.34 for lunches for volunteer workers at the Lions <br /> Park playground. <br /> There is a meeting scheduled for February 3, 1999 with Scott Kelling of the DNR at the <br /> Hugo City Hall to discuss the Oneka Lake boat launch in more detail with engineers. <br /> We are willing to pay$500.00 to the Mahtomedi School District to help in their efforts <br /> to develop an athletic needs study. It was voted "yes" by all present. -lDav t d. is OK i Q. <br /> A sign has been ordered by Mike, Public Works Department, for the Lions Park - we <br /> still need to create a sign of park rules and park hours. <br /> We should contact the horse/trail people who have sent postcards to let them know <br /> that we are keeping their interests in mind. <br /> The next meetings will remain JANUARY 12 and FEBRUARY 9. <br /> We had a chance to hear from David Gunther of the White Bear Athletic Association - <br /> he mentioned the study that their association had developed and that they are <br /> planning a meeting for January 7th that Bob Museus , Pete Pedersen and Nancy <br /> Chelmo may be able to attend. They are looking at more possibilities for recreation <br /> opportunities in the area of sports. <br /> Mr. Ronald McRoberts took us through a strategic planning session that will help us in <br /> our planning document to present to the council. We hope to make a presentation in <br /> March, 1999. Mr. McRoberts will join us again on January 12, 1999 to continue on <br /> with this work. <br /> Robyn LaCasse developed a Park and Recreation Capital Improvement Plan that <br /> could work as a beginningibaseline for our objectives part of our strategic plan. <br />
