Site Planning | 18 <br />Maintenance agreements should be executed for the upkeep and ongoing maintenance of these green <br />spaces and planned landscaping. This is essential to continue providing residents with high-quality <br />landscaping and prevent injury or liability for overgrown areas. Well-landscaped open areas should be <br />provided at the main road entryway to the developments. Gateway or welcoming design elements, <br />including water or landscape features, signage, and lighting, are encouraged. <br />All developments are required to dedicate parkland or a fee lieu of land as found in Section 90-324 of <br />the City Code. In addition, developments should preserve and enhance existing natural features such <br />as dense woods or vegetation, wetlands, rivers, lakes, streams, and many more. Buildings and related <br />sidewalks and trails should be placed to take advantage of the views and access to these enhanced <br />natural features and any newly created green spaces. <br />High-quality landscaping and green space design may include playgrounds and sports fields <br />Landscaping along sidewalks and trails helps direct people and provides a visual buffer
