<br /> <br /> <br /> Created: 2025-05-22 16:40:53 [EST] <br />(Supp. No. 36) <br /> <br />Page 130 of 198 <br />(b) All hunt and gun clubs must have their principal entrance located on a state or county highway, or city <br />collector street. <br />(c) Hunt and gun clubs must be located on parcels of land at least 40 acres in size. <br />(d) All shooting ranges, skeet ranges, trap ranges, archery courses, and similar facilities shall be constructed in <br />accordance with an approved site plan that shall be a provision of the conditional use permit issued for the <br />site. All shooting activities must be confined to the designated ranges, and located at least 500 feet away <br />from all property lines. <br />(e) All hunt and gun clubs shall be subject to safety and sound control plans approved by the city council. All <br />required safety and sound control measures shall be constructed and operational prior to any discharge of <br />firearms on the property of any hunt or gun club. <br />(Prior Code, § 1195-360.1, § 90-234) <br />Sec. 90-234. Indoor riding arenas. <br />(a) It is unlawful for any person to construct or operate an indoor riding arena, except in conformance with this <br />chapter. <br />(b) Indoor riding arenas may be allowed in the agricultural, rural residential, and future urban service zoning <br />districts on parcels at least ten acres in size, subject to the following conditions: <br />(1) The riding arena may not exceed 8,400 square feet in size. Other agricultural and accessory buildings <br />may be constructed on the property or attached to the riding arena provided the size of the structures <br />does not exceed the permitted square footage outlined in section 90-203. <br />(2) The riding arena may not be located between the home and a public street. <br />(3) Not more than 25 percent of the structure can contain a concrete floor or other similar surface. <br />(4) The riding arena shall be a minimum of 40 feet from the side lot line and meet all other applicable <br />setback requirements. <br />(5) If the use of the riding arena is discontinued in the future, the building may not be used for the <br />operation of a business, including the storage of business-related materials and equipment. <br />(6) The keeping of animals and construction of other horse-related facilities shall comply with sections 90- <br />231 and 90-240. <br />(Prior Code, § 1195-365.1, § 90-235; Ord. Kennels. <br />(a) The following applies to hobby or private kennels not used for commercial purposes: <br />(1) It is unlawful for any person to construct or operate a hobby kennel, except in conformance with this <br />chapter and chapter 10 of this Code. <br />(2) All hobby kennels shall be fenced to prevent animals running loose off the kennel property. <br />(3) No hobby kennel may house or maintain over four animals over six months of age. <br />(4) All exterior structures used for the confinement, care, or breeding of animals, shall be set back a <br />minimum of ten feet from any property line and 50 feet from any water supply well. <br />(b) The following applies to commercial kennels:
