Amateur radio antenna and towers. <br />(a) Antennas and antenna support structures for federally licensed amateur radio operators are hereby <br />exempted from the following provisions of this article: <br />(1) 90-297(1). <br />(2) 90-297(3). <br />(3) 90-298(a). <br />(4) 90-298(d). <br />(5) 90-299(a). <br />(6) 90-300(a)(3), (a)(6), (a)(9), (a)(11) and (a)(19). <br />(7) 90-300(b)(1), (b)(2)a, (b)(3) and (b)(4). <br />(b) No amateur antenna support structures shall be constructed unless site plan approval has been given by the <br />city administrator. Any person aggrieved by the city administrator's decision shall be entitled to appeal that <br />decision to the city council. <br />(c) Amateur radio support structures (towers) must be installed in accordance with the instructions furnished by <br />the manufacturer of that tower model. Because of the experimental nature of the amateur radio service, <br />antennas mounted on such a tower may be modified or changed at any time so long as the published <br />allowable load on the tower is not exceeded and the structure of the tower remains in accordance with the <br />manufacturer's specifications. <br />(Prior Code, § 025-070) <br />Secs. 90-302—90-320.
