CITY OF HUGO <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2004-395 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TEXT OF SECTION 1175-140.1 <br />(LANDSCAPING) OF THE HUGO ZONING ORDINANCE <br />THE CITY COUNCIL OF HUGO ORDAINS: <br />SECTION 1. Amendments. Section 1175, Subd. 2 (Landscaping) of the Hugo Zoning <br />Ordinance is hereby amended as follows: <br />(B) The location, number, size, and type of all mature trees existing on the <br />site, and identification of those to be removed. Mature trees are defined as trees <br />measuring a minimum of six (6) inches in diameter or larger for deciduous trees <br />and measuring four (4) inches in diameter or larger for coniferous trees, measured <br />54 -inches above the ground. <br />(C) The location, number, type, and size of all trees and shrubs to be planted, <br />as well as the type of mulch to be used. <br />SECTION 2. Amendments. Section 1175, Subd. 9 (Landscaping) of the Hugo Zoning <br />Ordinance is hereby amended as follows: <br />(C) Existing shading of water surfaces is preserved along lakes, rivers and <br />streams. <br />SECTION 3. Amendments. Section 1175, Subd. 15 (Single Family Housing) of the <br />Hugo Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as follows: <br />Subd. 15 Single family housing. All yard areas are to be covered with an approved <br />ground cover. Two (2) overstory deciduous shade trees shall be maintained in the front <br />yard of each home site. Where five (5) or more trees are planted as part of a <br />development, no more than twenty (20) percent of the trees planted to meet this <br />requirement shall be of the same species. No tree, shrub, or other plant, except approved <br />ground cover, shall be planted or allowed to grow in public road right-of-way without <br />approval of the City Council. <br />SECTION 4. Amendments. Section 1175, Subd. 16 (Multi -family Housing) of the <br />Hugo Zoning Ordinance is hereby amended as follows: <br />(A) One (1) overstory deciduous shade tree per housing unit. <br />(B) One (1) coniferous tree per housing unit. <br />
