Hugo City Council Meeting Minutes for April 20,2015 <br /> Page 7 of 8 <br /> Gateway Elements Subcommittee Appointments <br /> One of the 2015 goals of the City Council is to evaluate criteria for entry monuments into the <br /> City. During City Commission meetings,there have been discussions and interest in installing <br /> entry monument signs,gateway elements in downtown, and park entry features. Planner Rachel <br /> Juba explained that the committee will likely discuss features such as entry monuments,City <br /> Hall signage,park benches and signage, intersection beautification,downtown features, and <br /> other community design elements. The subcommittee will likely assist in design,evaluate <br /> locations,and gather cost estimates. Recommendations will be made to the Parks Commission, <br /> Economic Development Authority,Planning Commission, and City Council. Rachel suggested <br /> the subcommittee have a representative from each Commission/Council and meet over the next <br /> several months. <br /> Haas made motion, Petryk seconded,to direct staff to form the Gateway Elements Subcommittee <br /> with Council Member Klein to serve on it. <br /> All Ayes. Motion carried. <br /> Update on the Yellow Ribbon Network <br /> Council Members Chuck Haas and Phil Klein updated the Council on the activities of the Yellow <br /> Ribbon Network to date.The Hugo YRN was asked to be the charity for the Lino Lake Rotary <br /> Gala Event.The Rotary will be presenting a check to the YRN. Lino Lakes is also working on <br /> becoming a YRN city. Haas thanked everyone who helped with the April 11th packing event. <br /> The benefit for Brent Huberty was a huge success. Hamburger night this Wednesday will be <br /> sponsored by the White Bear Lake firefighter's special team. <br /> Spring Cleanup on April 25.2015 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council that the City will hold its annual Spring <br /> Cleanup event on Saturday,April 25,2015 at the Hugo Public Works Department from 8 a.m. to <br /> noon. <br /> Kidz n' Biz on April 25.2015 <br /> City Administrator Bryan Bear reminded Council that the Annual Kidz n'Biz Fest will take place <br /> on Saturday,April 25, 2015 at the Oneka Elementary School from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. <br /> Hardwood Creek Open House on May 14.2015 <br /> Last fall,Washington County completed the extension of the Hardwood Creek Regional Trail <br /> from 145th Street to 140th Street. City Administrator Bryan Bear informed Council that a grand <br /> opening/ribbon cutting for the extension of the trail will be held Thursday,May 14 at 5:00 <br /> pm. Staff will inform Council of the exact meeting place on the trail when it becomes known. <br />
