1 MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR CITY COUNCIL MEETING OF 1/4/88 Mayor George Atkinson called the meeting to order at 7:00 PM. PRESENT: Peltier, Potts, Olson, Vail, Atkinson City Administrator, Ken Huber City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager Peltier made motion, Potts seconded, to approve the minutes for December 21, 1987 as submitted. All aye. Motion Carried. Potts made motion, Vail seconded, to approve the General Claims for January 4, 1988 in the amount of $16,037.64. All aye. Motion Carried. Peltier made motion, Vail seconded, to approve the Utility Claims for January 4, 1988 in the amount of $69004.13. All aye. Motion Carried. 7.1 DESIGNATION OF DEPOSITORY OF CITY FUNDS Currently, the official depositories for city funds are the First State Bank of Hugo, the First National Bank: of St. Paul, all Twin City Federal offices, and the Municipal Money -Market fund. Atkinson made motion, Olson seconded, to designate the First State Bank of Hugo, the First National Banff; of St. Paul, all Twin City Federal offices, and the Municipal Money -Market fund as the official depositories for the City of Hugo in 1988. VOTING AYE: Potts, Olson, Vail, Atkinson ABSTAINED: Peltier Motion Carried. 7.2 DESIGNATION OF OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER Currently, the official newspaper for the City of Hugo is the White Bear Press. Both the White Bear Press and the Forest Lake Times have requested that they be appointed official newspaper for the City of Hugo. Atkinson made motion, Olson seconded, that the Forest Lake Times be designated the official newspaper for the City of Hugo in 1988. All aye. Motion Carried. 7.3 APPOINT CITY ENGINEER Currently, Mr. Howard Kuusisto serves as the city engineer for the City of Hugo. Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, to designate Mr. Howard Kuusisto as the city engineer for the City of Hugo in 1988. All aye. Motion Carried.
