Motion Carried. <br />CABLE TV SERVICE AREA <br />After a recent discussion with a cable television consultant, it was <br />determined that one of the steps the City Council should take early on is <br />to establish a proposed service area where the city would like to have <br />cable TV installed in the early stages of development. The city staff has <br />prepared a recommended service area based on existing households and <br />future development. The consultant in question has also indicated he is <br />submitting a proposal to provide us with assistance during the bidding and <br />franchising process. City Administrator, Ken Huber, reviewed the proposed <br />service area with the Council, and after some discussion, Mr. Huber was <br />authorized to proceed with the next steps in the cable TV process, and the <br />Council accepted the proposed service area as recommended. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />Atkinson made motion, Olson seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 88-29, <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENT TO AUTHORIZE FUNDING FOR THE OLDER ADULT SUBURBAN <br />HOME -SHARE PROGRAM. <br />VOTING AYE: Olson, Peltier, Potts, Vail, Atkinson <br />VOTING NAY: None <br />Motion Carried. <br />The city received a letter from the city's prosecuting attorney, Richard <br />Hocking, regarding litigation between the City of Hugo and Thommes and <br />Thomas Tree Service, suggesting steps that can be taken to avoid further <br />legal action and costs, and settle the matter. <br />Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, authorizing city staff to enter <br />into negotiations with Thommes and Thomas Tree Service in an attempt to <br />reach a settlement and authorizing a one time burning permit regulated by <br />the Fire Chief if an agreement can be reached. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. , <br />CITY OF HUGO VS. DAVID SCHUMANN <br />The City Council authorized City Administrator, Ken Huber, to hire the <br />appropriate legal counsel to handle litigation between the City of Hugo <br />and David Schumann. <br />MISCELLANEOUS <br />The city will be receiving a letter from Boy Scout Troop #151, requesting <br />their reimbursement check from Washington County, along with a request for <br />an additional $300.00 for improvements to their recycling center <br />
