MINUTES FOR THE BOA H�).r.j Aly COUNC -\1 1/10/ae <br />The Board of Canvass was called to order by Mayor Atkinson at 7:00 PM. <br />PRESENT: Olson, Peltier, Potts, Vail, Atkinson <br />City Administrator, Ken Huber <br />City Clerk, Mary Ann Creager <br />Potts made motion, Vail seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 88-51, A RESOLUTION <br />CANVASSING ELECTION RETURNS. <br />VOTING AYE: Olson, Potts, Vail, Atkinson <br />ABSTAINED: Peltier <br />Motion Carried. <br />Olson made motion, Vail seconded, to adopt RESOLUTION 88-52, A RESOLUTION <br />ACKNOWLEDGING COMPLETION OF PROBATIONARY PERIOD AND ADJUSTMENT OF SALARY <br />FOR CITY BUILDING INSPECTOR. <br />VOTING AYE: Olson, Peltier, Potts, Vail, Atkinson <br />Motion Carried. <br />Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, that the City of Hugo retain <br />Pannell Kerr Forster to audit the city's financial records for the year <br />1988' <br />All aye' Motion Carried. <br />Atkinson made motion, Peltier seconded, that the city staff direct a <br />letter to Mr. John Jergens, Washington County Commissioner District #1, <br />thanking him for his efforts to upgrade roads in northern Washinton <br />County. <br />All aye. Motion Carried. <br />The city received a letter from Charles King indicating his interest in <br />serving as Hugo's representative on the Rice Creek Watershed District <br />Board of Managers' The city supports Councilman Potts in his efforts to <br />serve on the same board so no recommendation will be made for Mr. King. <br />City building inspector, John Benson, is directed to have the American <br />flag flying at City Hall illuminated. <br />There was some discussion about the reciting of the Pledge Allegiance <br />before all Council meetings, and it was decided to consider the <br />possibility, and if implemented, not start until after 1/1/89' <br />White Bear Township is checking with it's residents on Goodview Avenue to <br />find out their opinions as to the possibility of blacktopping their <br />portion of road at the same time as Hugo's portion of roadway in 1989' <br />Peltier made motion Olson seconded, to adjourn at 7:33 PM. <br />
