90 <br /> MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE HUGO CITY COUNCIL <br /> October 17, 1983 <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor McAllister at 6:12 PM. <br /> PRESENT: Peltier, Schwab, McAllister <br /> ABSENT: Atkinson, Vail <br /> Let the recoreNiat the requirements for a special meeting have been met. The <br /> meeting was called specifically to award the contract the Project 8311 . The bids <br /> had been opened at the meeting of October 3, 1983, at 7:30 PM, and the results <br /> were as follows: <br /> Twin City Tunneling $30,023.00 <br /> EJM Pipe Services 31,370.20 <br /> Ro-So Contracting 34,075.75 <br /> Howard Kuusisto, City Engineer, recommended that Twin City Tunneling, as low <br /> bidder, be awarded a contract in the amount of $30,023.00 for the 147th Street <br /> Watermain Improvement Project. The city has not yet received a permit from the <br /> railroad. A letter of approval should be coming shortly. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, that the City of Hugo award the <br /> contract for Project 8311 to Twin City Tunneling, in the amount of <br /> $30,023.00, and that no work commence until the City Engineer provides <br /> a written statement. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> Councilman Charles Schwab received a complaint from Don Rice regarding his neighbor, <br /> Neal Fagerhaugh. Mr. Rice contends that because of recent excavation on the Fa- <br /> gerhaugh property, the culvert on his driveway is becoming plugged. He also felt <br /> that a barricade constructed on the Fagerhaugh property is an "eye sore" to him. <br /> McAllister and Schwab will make an on-site inspection of the property. <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to adjourn at 6:25 PM. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> The regular meeting of the Hugo City Council was called to order at 7:02 PM. <br /> PRESENT: Peltier, Schwab, McAllister <br /> Attorney, Charles Johnson <br /> 3.0 APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the minutes of October 3, <br /> 1983, after the following correction has been made: <br /> Page 88 (5.5) - eliminate the duplication of the word "located" <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br /> 4.0 APPROVAL OF CLAIMS <br /> MOTION: Peltier made motion, Schwab seconded, to approve the General Claims for <br /> October 17, 1983, as submitted. <br /> All aye. Motion Carried. <br />
