ORDINANCE 1997-316 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 180 ENTITLED <br />"MOTOR VEHICLE & TRAFFIC" BY INCREASING <br />SPRING LOAD LIMITS ON CITY STREETS <br />The Hugo City Council hereby ordains that Section 180-6 be deleted in its entirety, <br />and the following be inserted: <br />180-6. LOAD LIMITS. Vehicles traveling or parked on public streets and <br />roads of the City may not exceed five (S) tons gross weight per axle during the <br />Spring -thaw period. The Spring -thaw period for City streets and roads will be as <br />determined by the Minnesota Department of Transportation for State roads in the <br />same area. Weight limit may be further reduced by the City Engineer or Street <br />Superintendent, where necessary, to protect public safety of the public's <br />investment in roadways, by their posting signs identifying the reduced weight limit <br />on the street or roadway where the reduced weight limit is to apply.
