ORDINANCE 95-295 <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 278 OF THE HUGO CITY CODE <br /> BY CHANGING THE SPELLING OF JAMACA AVENUE TO JAMAICA AVENUE <br /> WHEREAS, several communities in Washington County have indicated an <br /> interest in changing the spelling of "Jamaca Avenue" to "Jamaica Avenue" <br /> under the Washington County Uniform Street Naming System and Property <br /> Numbering System, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Washington County Public Works Department has requested <br /> formal action of the municipalities in the County approving the change in <br /> their jurisdictions, and <br /> WHEREAS, there are currently no streets named "Jamaca Avenue" in the <br /> City of Hugo, although there is potential for establishing such a named <br /> street in the community, and <br /> WHEREAS, Jamaica Avenue is the more common spelling in general use ; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HUGO, <br /> WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA: <br /> That the spelling of "Jamaca Avenue" under the City's Uniform Street <br /> Naming and Property Numbering System shall be henceforth "Jamaica Avenue" . <br /> Upon roll call , the following Council members voted AYE: Debra Barnes, <br /> Andrew Goiffon, James Leroux, Marvin LaValle, Fran Miron <br /> Voted NAY: None <br /> Whereupon said ordinance was declared passed and adopted this 3rd day of <br /> January, 1995. <br /> 4400. <br /> Fran Miron, Mayor <br /> ATTEST: <br /> Mary A n Creager, Cit; ''lerk <br /> Published in the Forest Lake Times this 12th day of January, 1995. <br />
