� . . <br /> 1 . Structures and parking areas shall be screened from <br /> public waters, in so far as possible, by topography and <br /> vegetation <br /> 2 . Watercraft mooring for patrons must not pose a threat to <br /> navigation , and must be centralized and limited to the <br /> minimum size necessary to meet the businesses needs. <br /> 320-55 SIGNAGE AND LIGHTING IN, UPON, AND ADJACENT TO PUBLIC WATERS <br /> Subd . A. Advertising signs and their supporting structures are <br /> not permitted in or upon public waters. Signs conveying safety <br /> information may be placed in or upon public waters only by permit <br /> of the City Council , or , in an emergency situation , by the <br /> Washington County Sheriff . <br /> Subd . B. One advertizing sign may be placed within the shore <br /> impact zone of each commercial or industrial lot if all of the <br /> following conditions are met . <br /> 1 . The sign must serve the purpose of providing the general <br /> public notice of goods or services they may purchase or <br /> utilize by accessing the businesses from the water body . <br /> 2. The sign may only convey the location and name of the <br /> establishment and the general types of goods or services <br /> available <br /> 3. The sign may not contain detailed information such as <br /> product brands, prices, or special offerings . <br /> 4. The top of the sign may not be located higher than ten <br /> ( 10) feet above the normal ground level . <br /> 5. The sign must not exceed thirty-two (32) square feet in <br /> size. <br /> 6. If the sign is illuminated by artificial lights, the <br /> lights must be shielded or directed to prevent <br /> illumination across public waters. <br /> 7 . A permit for the sign must be obtained in accordance <br /> with the city ' s sign ordinance, and the sign must meet <br /> all requirements of that ordinance except as modified <br /> herein . <br /> Subd . C. Outside lighting may be located within the shore impact <br /> zone or over public waters if it is used to illuminate potential <br /> safety hazards and is shielded or directed to prevent direct <br /> illumination across public waters. This does not preclude the use <br /> of navigational lights. <br /> 19 <br />
