Pr <br /> , <br /> 404.02. Sewage Tanks. All tanks, regardless of material or <br /> method of construction shall be: <br /> ! ( 1 ) Watertight. <br /> (2) So designed and constructed as to withstand all lateral <br /> earth pressures under saturated soil conditions with <br /> the tank empty. <br /> (3) So designed and constructed as to withstand a minimum <br /> of seven (7) feet of saturated earth cover above the <br /> tank top. <br /> (4) Not subject to excessive corrosion or decay. <br /> ( 5) Any tank installed where the water table is closer than <br /> three (3) inches to the bottom of the excavation at the <br /> time of installation shall be required to have an <br /> integrally cast bottom. <br /> 404.03. Septic Tanks. All tanks, regardless of material or <br /> method of construction , shall be designed to conform to the following <br /> criteria: <br /> ( 1 ) The liquid depth of any Septic Tank or compartment <br /> thereof shall not be less than thirty (30) inches. A <br /> liquid depth greater than six and one-half (6 1/2) feet <br /> shall not be considered in determining tank capacity. <br /> (2) No tank or compartments thereof shall have an inside <br /> horizontal dimension less than twenty-four (24) inches. <br /> (3) The inlet and outlet of each tank shall be submerged by <br /> means of a baffle device. <br /> (4) The space in the tank between the design liquid level <br /> and the top of the inlet and outlet baffles shall not <br /> izeless than twenty (20) percent of the total design <br /> liquid capacity, except that in horizontal cylindrical <br /> tanks this space shall be not less than fifteen ( 15) <br /> percent of the total design liquid capacity. <br /> ( 5) Baffle Devices. Shall be constructed of acid resistant <br /> concrete, acid resistant fiberglass or plastic and <br /> shall be integrally cast with the tank , affixed with a <br /> permanent waterproof adhesive or affixed with stainless <br /> steel connectors, top and bottom. Where a sanitary tee <br /> is used as a baffle device, it shall be joined to the <br /> inlet or outlet pipe with a permanent waterproof <br /> adhesive. <br /> (6) The inlet baffle shall extend below the design liquid <br /> level a minimum of six (6) inches but not more than <br /> twenty (20) percent of the total design liquid depth, <br /> and a minimum of one ( 1 ) inch above the crown of the <br /> inlet sewer. <br /> 13 <br />� 2 <br />�� � <br />
