b' In soils having Percolation Rates of sixteen ( 16) <br /> • minutes per inch through sixty (60) minutes per <br />, inch, the bottom of the system filter material <br /> shall be a minimum of three (3 ) feet above the <br /> Water Table or Bedrock . <br /> c ' Individual trenches shall be a minimum of eighteen <br /> ( 18) inches and a maximum of thirty-six (36) <br /> inches in width. <br /> d. Individual trenches shall not exceed one hundred <br /> ( 100) feet in length. <br /> e. The bottom of trench excavations shall be level in <br /> all directions <br /> . <br /> f ' Trenches shall be excavated in such a manner as to <br /> leave the soil at the bottom and sides in <br /> a <br /> natural , unsmeared , uncompacted condition . No <br /> excavation shall be permitted in soils where the <br /> moisture content of the soil exceeds the plastic <br /> limit. <br /> g . Excavation or other equipment shall not be driven <br /> on the soil treatment area. <br /> h. Filter material shall be placed to a depth of at <br /> least twelve ( 12) inches and not more than <br /> twenty-four (24) inches below the distribution <br /> pipe. <br /> Distribution pipes - gravity distribution . <br /> ( 1 ) Distribution pipes used in soil treatment <br /> systems for gravity flow distribution shall be <br /> a minimum of four (4 ) inches in diameter, and <br /> of sound and durable material not subject to <br /> .corrosion, or decay or to loss of strength <br /> under continuously wet conditions. <br /> (2) Perforated distribution pipe shall have one <br /> ( 1 ) or more rows of holes of not less than <br /> one-half ( 1/2) inch diameter spaced not more <br /> than thirty-six (36) inches apart. Holes <br /> shall be cleanly bored and spaced so as to <br /> prevent failure due to loads . Distribution <br /> pipe shall have a minimum load bearing <br /> capacity of not less than one thousand ( 1 ,000) <br /> pounds per lineal foot after perforation . <br /> j ' Pressure distribution . <br /> ( 1 ) Distribution pipes used in soil treatment <br /> systems for pressure distribution shall be a <br /> minimum of one ( 1 ) inch in diameter and of <br /> 25 <br /> 2 <br />
