OCTOBER 17, 1977 1 03 <br /> 5.3 American Legion — Bingo License <br /> The Legion provided the city with a copy of their minutes of July 19, 1977, indicating <br /> that LuVerne Marier had been appointed to be the bingo chairperson. The Legion has <br /> requested that the bond request be waivered. <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Vail, to approve the bingo license <br /> for the American Legion with waiver of the bond. <br /> VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.4 Withrow Tennis Courts — Request for help <br /> Toni Fagerhaugh represented the Withrow area stating that they had gone to Grant Township, <br /> and wereienied their request for funds. They had also approached May Townslip, and were <br /> given $2,000.00. They have personal donations amounting to $200.00. The Withrow Education <br /> Association has donated $300.00, making a total of $2,500.00 definitely donated to the <br /> cause. City Clerk, Carol Williams, stated that Hugo participated in the amount of $1,950.00 <br /> in 1973 in the construction of the city's tennis courts. There was no figure for the amount <br /> spent on the hockey rink at the school. Spitzer suggested that the Council should pass a <br /> motion that the city would like to contribute and get the clerk and treasurer to get the <br /> status of where we stand in regard to the budget, and give Withrow a dollar figure later. <br /> MOTION: Vail made motion, seconded by Schletty, that it is the concensus of tf= <br /> the City Council that we will assest the Withrow Athletic Association <br /> in the construction of their tennis courts in an amount to be <br /> determined at the meeting of November 7, 1977. <br /> VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION C, ' ' ID) <br /> 5/5 Mr. Dale Palmer — Nuisance Violation <br /> The city had received a written complaint stating the Mr. Palmer had an excess of auto— <br /> mobiles stored on his property. Mr. Palmer had stated at a previous meeting that the <br /> problem would be resolved at this time. Mr. Palmer was present and stated that he did not <br /> havea .building constructed as yet, but would have it done by the middle of November. <br /> He stated that he would not need as large a building as originally planned. <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, seconded by Schletty, that the Police Chief <br /> review this problem, on or about November 15, 1977, and have a <br /> report ready no later than November 21, 1977. <br /> VOTING FOR: Spitzer, Schletty, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 5.6 Shirley Duckstad — Special Use Permit <br /> Mrs. Duckstad would like to operate a beauty shop in her residence at 6800 177th Street. <br /> MOTION: Schletty made motion, seconded by Vail, that we grant a Special Use <br /> Permit to Shirley Duckstad, 6800 177th Street, for operating a <br /> beauty shop in her home subject to the recommendations as made by <br /> the Planning Commission: <br />
