NOVEMBER 30, 1977 125 Lino Lakes questioned the acquisition of the 27 acres. Stated it was good high land, and a desirable piece. For this reason also, was why the county selected it as it is on the lake and would serve the use of a campground on the higher section. The extra acreage would serve as a buffer to separate it from the adjacent development. Most other suggestions were received well. Hunting will eventually be closed in the near future. The Otter Lake control maintains itself due to the size of the lake, it in itself discourages high powered motors. Building on shoreland is controlled by local ordinances as well as the wetlands. Maintenance of the bike path would also be an item to be considered. Hugo and Lino Lakes would still like assurance that the proposal is final and no futher efforts would be made. Perovich stated that they just wanted a link between the regional parks and that is all, that they would not be back. Nethercut is to document the proposal and forward the copies to Hugo and Lino Lakes at which time the cities would review and suggest futher comments. It was suggested that any engineeting study by either city, should be on a mutual agreement. Recess was called by LaValle at 6:30. Attorney Johnson stated that the Shafer trail is scheduled for December 13, 1977. Shafer has made an offer of 1160,000.00 as final settlement on the contract. MOTION: Spitzer made motion, Irsfeld seconded, to instruct Attorney Johnson to contact Shafer and offer $150,000.00 as full settlement. VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld, Vail, Schletty, and Spitzer. MOTION CARRIED Attorney to report back at next meeting of December 5, 1977. MOTION: Schletty made motion, LaValle seconded to adjourn meeting at 7:25 P.M.
