FEBRUARY 1 , 1978 MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING. r <br /> TIME: 7:10 P.M. <br /> PRESENT: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail and Attorney Johnson <br /> ABSENT: Spitzer and Schletty <br /> The rural and urban taxing district was discussed. The rural area <br /> has the same services as the urban area. The change is being suggested <br /> for equalization and not to generate more revenue for the city. <br /> The entire 36 miles is serviced by police, fire, and city hall. Some <br /> of the sprawling area does not warrant some services. <br /> Attorney Johnson stated that the taxing district was originated at <br /> incorporation at 80% rural and 100% urban but the percentage does <br /> not have to go from 80% to 100% any percentage could be determined. <br /> MOTION: LaValle made motion Irsfeld seconded to set a <br /> Public Hearing for March 13, 1978 at the Hugo <br /> Elementary School at 7:00 P.M. to consider the <br /> abolishing of rural taxing district. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> MOTION: Irsfeld made motion, LaValle seconded to adjourn meeting <br /> at 10:15 P.M. <br /> VOTING FOR: LaValle, Irsfeld, and Vail. <br /> MOTION CARRIED <br /> 0- C4- <br /> Carol A.
