MINUTES FOR THE EDA MEETING OF JUNE 20, 2005 <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Fran Miron at 8:30 am. <br />Present: Miron, Arcand, Bever, Klein, Skarich <br />Absent: Charpentier, Granger <br />City Administrator, Mike Ericson <br />Community Development Director, Bryan Bear <br />2. EDA MEETING OF MAY 16, 2005 <br />City staff recommends the Board approve the minutes for the May 16, 2005 <br />meeting as presented. <br />Klein made motion, Bever seconded to approve the minutes for the May 16, 2005 <br />meeting as presented. <br />All aye. Motion carried <br />3. DISCUSSION OF RFP'S FOR LOT 1, BLOCK 1, BEIP 51H- ADDITION <br />With direction from the EDA and City Council, staff prepared an RFP and sent it <br />to over 50 developers, posted it on the City's website, the League of Minnesota <br />Cities website, and listed it on the Minnesota Commercial Realtors Property <br />Database. The staff has received numerous promising phone calls in response to <br />the RFP, however, by the May 27, 2005 deadline, staff had only received two <br />formal responses. The BEIP subcommittee (Granger, Skarich, Klein) has not <br />reviewed the information so far. Staff presented four proposals to the EDA, and <br />the subcommittee was directed to review the proposals and return to the EDA <br />with a recommendation July 18, 2005. <br />Miron made motion, Klein seconded directing the subcommittee to bring back a <br />recommendation. <br />All aye. Motion carried. <br />4. DISCUSSION OF RINK -TEC PROPERTY <br />The so-called "Rink -Tec" property is Lot 3, Block 1, of the Bald Eagle Industrial <br />consisting of approximately one acre of land. A company known as "Rink -Tec" <br />bought the property from the City, however the contract required that that <br />building be under construction by May 30, 2004. At the request of Rink -Tec, the <br />City Council extended the construction date for one year, which has now expired <br />as of May 30, 2005. At the June 6, 2005 City Council meeting, the Council <br />directed the staff to buy the property back from Rink -Tec, a process which is <br />currently under way. The staff has been in contact with two businesses who have <br />
