BACKGROUND MEMO FOR THE EDA MEETING OF <br />TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2015 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Staff recommends approval of the minutes from the January 13, 2015, EDA meeting as <br />presented. <br />4. UPDATE ON LIONS PARK <br />At the City Council meeting of June 16, 2014, a landscape architecture consultant was <br />hired and a stakeholder group was appointed for the planning of Lions Park. <br />Immediately following the dedication of a 2.11 acre expansion of the park property, <br />planning began. Residents shared comments on three concept plans at the Parks <br />Commission meeting on December 10, 2014. Parks Planner Shayla Syverson will <br />present the three Lions Park concept plans. Staff recommends the EDA discuss the <br />concepts and provide feedback to staff. <br />5. UPDATE ON ST. PAUL PORT AUTHORTY MEETING <br />On January 23rd, 2015, Staff had met with the St. Paul Port Authority regarding the <br />redevelopment of the City owned property in downtown. Staff will provide an overview <br />of the meeting agenda and recommendations given by the St. Paul Port Authority. <br />6. DISCUSSION OF MARKETING CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />At the meeting of January 8, 2015, the EDA discussed the marketing of City owned <br />property. The EDA decided to wait for feedback from staff after the meeting with the St. <br />Paul Port Authority to make any strategic decisions on how to market the property. Staff <br />will provide an update on possible subsequent steps in marketing City owned property. <br />Staff recommends the EDA review the information and provide feedback to staff. <br />7. UPDATE ON THE FUTURE OF THE RAIL LINE <br />Staff and City Officials have been having discussions with MN Commercial, Burlington <br />Northern Santa Fe (BNFS), and local businesses on the use of rail service concerning the <br />future of the rail line. Staff will provide an update to the EDA at the meeting. <br />8. UPDATE ON DOWNTOWN REDEVELOPMENT <br />Staff will provide an update to the EDA on the progress with downtown redevelopment. <br />
