MINUTES FOR THE EDA MEETING OF JUNE 10, 2014 <br />Weidt called the meeting to order at 5:06 pm. <br />PRESENT: Klein, Houle, Gallivan, Puleo, Denaway and Weidt <br />ABSENT: Arcand <br />STAFF: Bryan Bear, City Administrator <br />Rachel Juba, Planner <br />Connor Schaefer, Community Development Intern <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE EDA MEETING OF APRIL 8, 2014 <br />Puleo made motion, Klein seconded, to approve minutes for the EDA meeting of April 8, <br />2014. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE JOINT WORKSHOP ON DOWNTOWN <br />HUGO MEETING OF MAY 8, 2014 <br />Klein made motion, Gallivan seconded, to approve minutes for the EDA meeting of April <br />8, 2014. <br />All ayes. Motion carried. <br />UPDATE ON MARKETING OF CITY OWNED COMMERCIAL PROPERTY <br />Juba stated that the City hired High Pointe Realty and Wakota Commercial Advisors to <br />market City owned property located on Highway 61. They will be providing an update to <br />the EDA quarterly. <br />Bill Bergeson of High Pointe Reality provided updates of the efforts made to market the <br />City owned commercial property. Bergeson stated that the property was posted on <br />multiple online sites and a listserv. Bergeson also stated that he fielded calls regarding the <br />property and answered questions. The land is experiencing interest, but no serious offers <br />at this point. Bergson also stated that this is a busy time for the real estate market and that <br />he recommend the City continue to be patient with the property. <br />UPDATE ON JOINT WORKSHOP ON DOWNTOWN <br />Juba gave a review of the City Council, Planning Commission, and EDA Joint Workshop <br />on May 8th, 2014. Maxwell Research presented on the analysis of a study on the potential <br />market for the development of Downtown Hugo. There also was a discussion on the City <br />of Hugo Downtown Design Plan & Guidelines. The conclusion was made that the City <br />continue to be guided by the existing guidelines. <br />
