Public Works Private Well Sealing Ow, Property owners may obtain financial assistance for sealing abandoned wells. 11 Applicants may be eligible for cost -share (50%) or full -cost reimbursement. You must complete an application, receive approval, and have a signed agreement in place before proceeding with any well sealing. Please contact the Washington County Department of Public Health and Environment at 651-430-6655 for more information. Hydrant Flushing Starting May 5th As part of many other spring projects, the Public Works Department will be flushing e`1 C/� hydrants starting May 5th. We expect it to take about two weeks to complete all L hydrants. Flushing purges rust and stagnant water from the distribution system and identifies hydrants in need of maintenance. Some residents may receive rust colored water that could stain laundry. '°§qa d s Questions?Call the Hugo City Hall at 651-762-6300 Street Sweeping Starting April 1st The Public Works Department will be sweeping all public paved streets beginning on April 1St Sweeping takes place Monday through Friday between 7:OOam and 4:30pm. It will take approximately two weeks to complete. Private roads are swept by homeowners associations. Compost Site The compost site is located on the south side of 170th St North approximately 1/2 mile west of Highway 61. The site is open for Hugo residents only from April 15th through November 1st on Wednesdays from 4pm to 8:OOpm or dusk and Saturdays from 10:OOam to S:OOpm. This is a deposit site for grass clippings, leaves, and soft organic matter only. No brush, twigs, branches or woody materials accepted. Questions?
