Parks Commisison Meeting 3-12-02 <br />Minutes <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />March 13th 6:30 p.m. <br />Firstar Bank Building <br />Meeting Chair: Robyn LaCasse <br />Minutes By: Robyn LaCasse / Laurie McRostie <br />Present: Robyn LaCasse, Bunny Peterson, David Strub, Tom Weidt, Chuck Haas, Bronwen Kleissler, <br />John Rask <br />Absent: Laurie McRostie, Tom Cheesebrow, Pete Pedersen <br />Copies To: Commission Members, Michele Lindau- Community Development Assistant, John Rask - <br />Community Development Director, Mike Ericson - City Administrator <br />I. Centex / Shade Tree Homes <br />A. With the extension of town homes we reviewed the outlot that is contiguous to the 80 acres <br />currently owned by the city. The commission unanimously agrees that we would agree to accept <br />the outlot but would not be willing to pay or reduce funds. <br />B. John will follow up on the trail plan on 132nd St. and keep this in mind for making connections. <br />II. Fenway Plan <br />A. This plan did not include any trail connections or sidewalks. The commission unanimously agrees <br />on a trail connection from Fenway to the north and a trail on 140th to the West. <br />B. The ordinance for trails and sidewalks should be followed. John will pull the ordinance to be <br />reviewed. <br />III. Bernin Property <br />A. If land is developed contiguous to the Bernin property the commission would be interested in <br />looking at land dedication vs. park fees. <br />IV. Lions <br />A. We would like to invite a member of the Lions to our next meeting to look at the proposed CSAH 8 <br />realignment and the impact on the existing Lions Park. <br />V. Miscellaneous <br />A. New City Hall Open House April 15th 3-7 PM <br />B. Follow-up on trees to be planted in Beaver Ponds <br />C. Consider finding a spot to plant trees for future city use. <br />D. Work on assigning projects to each commission member. <br />This is an interpretation of the events that happened at the meeting.
