Minutes <br />Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />February 11, 2004 <br />6:30 p.m. <br />Oneka Room — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Robyn LaCasse <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Robyn LaCasse, David Strub, Roger <br />Clarke and Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff Chris Petree. <br />Consultant: Laurie McRostie. <br />Absent: Pete Pederson, Tom Weidt and Jennifer May. <br />Approve Minutes from January 14, 2004 meeting <br />LaCasse made a motion, Strub seconded, to accept the Minutes from the January 14, 2004 <br />Parks Commission Meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Review/Approve Final Concept Oneka Ponds/Bernin Park (Laurie McRostie) <br />Consultant Laurie McRostie presented a preliminary plan for the Oneka Ponds/Bernin Park <br />Site. Laurie reviewed the play equipment, picnic shelter, trails and open spaces that were <br />included in the design. Commission members and residents offered the following <br />comments: include decorative features on the picnic shelter, research options for fire pit, <br />rotate play area/picnic shelter to make area more visible as users approach, align the trail <br />as necessary, select option #1 for cost estimates, residents in attendance wanted the <br />record to show that they were not in favor of a parking lot on the Bernin Property. <br />LaCasse made a motion, Cheesebrow seconded, directing Consultant Laurie McRostie to <br />rotate the play equipment and picnic shelter to make it more visible and appealing as users <br />approach. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Presentation on School Site/Power's Property (Len Pratt) <br />Developer Len Pratt was in attendance and he provided an overview of the concept plan for <br />the Power's property. <br />IV. Discuss Leibel Minor Subdivision Park <br />LaCasse made a motion, Cheesebrow seconded, to accept park dedication fees in lieu of <br />Page 1 <br />
