Minutes <br />Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Meeting <br />August 11, 2004 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Kitty Cheesebrow <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Kitty Cheesebrow, Roger Clarke, Steven Lacher, Tom Weidt <br />and Jim Keithahn. <br />Planning Commission: Kelly Bailly. <br />Staff. Chris Petree. <br />Absent: Pete Pedersen and Jennifer May. <br />Approve Minutes From July 14, 2004 Meeting <br />Weidt made a motion, Keithahn seconded, to accept the Minutes from the July 14, 2004 Parks <br />Commission Meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Approve Landscaping Plan for Oneka Lake Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an overview of the landscaping plan that was prepared <br />by Landscape Architect Laurie McRostie for the Oneka Lake Park. The plan calls for the planting of <br />28 trees in the park area. Bids will be awarded by the City Council on August 16, 2004 and planting <br />should take place at the end of August or early September. <br />Weidt made a motion, Lacher seconded, to approve the Landscaping Plan for Oneka Lake Park and <br />to recommend that the City Council install all B&B trees. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />III. Review Concept Plan for Oakshore Park -Park <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an overview of the Concept Plan for the Oakshore <br />Park -Park. Staff looked for comments from the Park Commission on this Concept Plan. Park <br />Commissioner Weidt stated that he has spoken with residents and we need to consider future areas <br />for hockey rinks and this area might be one of them. <br />Lacher made a motion, Clarke seconded, to approve the Concept Plan for the Oakshore Park -Park <br />and to continue with negotiations with the Homeowners Association. <br />All Aye.
