Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Minutes <br />April 13, 2005 <br />Page 2 <br />Friday, April 8, 2005. The committee continues to work on prioritizing park projects and <br />researching funding sources. <br />VI. Grant Writing Committee Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided an update to the Parks Commission on the status <br />of the DNR Outdoor Recreation Grant for the park in Diamond Point East. The grant was <br />submitted by the March 31, 2005 deadline and the City should receive a response by July <br />2005. <br />VII. Schedule Parks Commission Tour <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commission Chair Kitty Cheesebrow have <br />discussed possible dates for the Summer Parks Commission Tour and recommend July 13, <br />2005. This is the date for the regularly scheduled meeting in July and will be noticed in the <br />City's newspaper of the change. <br />Lacher made a motion, Weidt seconded to schedule the summer Parks Commission Tour for <br />July 13, 2005 at 5 p.m. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />VIII. Summer Block Parties <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commissioner Jennifer May discussed possible <br />block party opportunities with the Parks Commission for this summer. Parks Commissioner <br />Jennifer May also asked that the City post information about block parties on the web site and <br />the cable access channel. <br />IX. Updates <br />A. Planning Commission — Planning Commissioner Kelly Bailly informed the Parks Commission that <br />the City Council had approved the rural and open space ordinance and that an updated park map <br />would be helpful for the Planning Commission. <br />B. City Council — None. <br />C. Pete Pedersen — Discussed opportunities for additional parkland acquisition. <br />D. Chris Petree — Updated the Parks Commission on the Eagle Scout project for the landscaping of <br />Beaver Ponds Park. <br />X. Other <br />LOCATION — CITY HALL <br />
