Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Minutes <br />November 8, 2006 <br />Page 2 <br />would be willing to work with the WB Baseball Association to help them secure fields during the <br />summer months and allow them to use the Oneka Elementary Gymnasium during February and <br />March for practices. Public Works Director Chris Petree will work with Mr. Petersen to program <br />these items. <br />V. Lions Park Improvements -Fencing <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that the Lions Club recently <br />constructed a permanent fence off of the Tennis Courts at Lions Park to help facilitate the events <br />for Good Neighbor Days. City Staff approved construction of this fence and found it to be a <br />minimal impact on the recreational use of the Park. <br />VI. Skate Park Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with a brief update of the <br />skate park that is being considered at Podvin Park in White Bear Lake. The City of White Bear <br />Lake is currently working with the School District for development of the skate park and will be <br />deciding on the specifics of the skate park in the near future. Public Works Director Chris Petree <br />will provide updates as this project moves forward. <br />VII. Diamond Point Park Damage <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that Diamond Point Park <br />was vandalized on October 31, 2006 at approximately 9:30pm. The vandals set fire to a trash <br />receptacle and two picnic tables and broke off three trees. The fire also caused considerable <br />damage to the picnic shelter and the concrete plaza located beneath it. Public Works Director <br />Chris Petree is working with the City's insurance company to repair the damaged items and the <br />Washington County Sheriff's department is investigating the incident. <br />Adjournment: <br />Gabrielli made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 8:45 p.m. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />
