Minutes <br />City of Hugo <br />Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting <br />December 13, 2006 <br />7:00 p.m. <br />Council Chambers — City Hall <br />Meeting Chair: Roger Clarke <br />Minutes By: Chris Petree <br />Present: Parks Commission: Roger Clarke, Pete Pedersen, Jennifer May and Rachel Berger. <br />Staff Chris Petree, Public Works Director. <br />Absent: Dan Gabrielli. <br />Approve Minutes From November 8, 2006 Meeting <br />May made a motion, Pedersen seconded, to approve the minutes from the November 8, 2006 <br />Parks Commission meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />II. Resignation of Parks Commissioner Charlie Kirk and Update on Parks Commissioner <br />Appointments <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with a resignation letter from <br />Charlie Kirk and informed the Parks Commission that the City has three applicants for the two <br />vacancies on the Parks Commission. The City Council will be reviewing the applications at the <br />December 18, 2006 Council meeting and should appoint new commissioners by the first meeting <br />of the year. <br />III. Oneka Elementary Gymnasium Programming <br />Revised Schedule (Adult Volleyball & Tot Time): <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree provided the Parks Commission with a revised schedule <br />for the Oneka Elementary Gymnasium which includes adult volleyball and tot time. The <br />adult volleyball is scheduled to begin in mid-January and registration is currently taking <br />place. Public Works Director Chris Petree and Parks Commissioner Rachel Berger have <br />been working with school district officials to secure gym supervisors and space for tot time. <br />Petree and Berger have also received quotes for purchasing equipment for use at tot time. <br />Total cost for equipment for the 0-3 & 3-6 age groups is approximately $6,000. Tot Time is <br />scheduled to begin in mid-January and will be offered Tuesday & Thursday nights from 4- <br />6pm with the possibility of scheduling a time on the weekends as well. Petree and Berger <br />will continue to work on finalizing the schedule, creating rules for tot time and promoting tot <br />time to the residents of Hugo. <br />Page 1 <br />
