Hugo, Minnesota Parks and Recreation Open Space Commission Minutes <br />July 11, 2007 <br />Page 2 <br />Clarke made a motion, Parker seconded, to work with the school district to expand the tot time <br />program, continue efforts to start an adult recreational volleyball league and increase publicity for <br />all programs that are held at the gym. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />V. Dog Ordinance Discussion <br />At the June meeting, the Parks Commission voted unanimously to request that the City Council <br />amend the dog ordinance to require dogs to be leashed while on City owned property. Following <br />comments from the City Council the Parks Commission made the following motion for changes <br />to the dog ordinance. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Clarke seconded, to request that the City Council amend the dog <br />ordinance that would require dogs to be on a leash while at an "active" City owned park. <br />All Aye Motion Carried. <br />VI. 2008 Budget Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that the City Council would <br />be holding a mid -year budget workshop on Wednesday, July 18th at 7p.m. and staff would start <br />planning for park projects in 2008 and these items will be placed on the August Parks <br />Commission Agenda. Parks Commission Chair Roger Clarke asked that ideas for park projects <br />in 2008 be emailed to Public Works Director Chris Petree by Wednesday, August 1 st so that he <br />could compile the list of projects for the Parks Commission to prioritize at the August 8th meeting. <br />VII. 2008 Comp. Plan/Parks Plan Update <br />Public Works Director Chris Petree informed the Parks Commission that Community <br />Development Director Bryan Bear and Planning Consultant Kendra Lindahl have asked to be <br />placed on the August Parks Commission Agenda to begin work on updating the Parks Master <br />Plan. <br />Adjournment: <br />Pedersen made a motion, Schmidt seconded, to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />
