Mel -O -Dee Stable Property <br />Jeff Carpenter speaking on behalf of Donna and Howard Moline informed the <br />commission about the property located at 13151 Elmcrest Ave. N. The owners of <br />this property would like the city to consider this property if future land is needed for <br />open space, recreation and parks. The property is 35'/2 acres and currently in a <br />farm/stable setting, adjacent to 2 developed areas with many children. <br />Discussions followed. <br />Pedersen made a motion, Strub seconded to direct city staff to send a letter out <br />informing that we are not interested. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />IV. Schoonover Bench and Tree Memorial <br />Parker informed the commission that a resident approached her in reference to a <br />tree and park bench that they wanted to donate as a memorial to the city. <br />Discussion took place about how memorials donations should be handled and if a <br />policy should be put into place. <br />Scott Anderson Public Works Director said he would inquire research on how other <br />cities currently handle this and if they have policies in place already related to this. <br />V. Resignation of Pete Pedersen <br />Clark expressed his extreme gratitude on behalf of the commission for all the effort <br />and service Pete Pedersen has given to the community. <br />Pedersen elaborated to the commission about being on the initial subcommittee that <br />first was in place for the city to determine a parks commission should be established. <br />Many thanks go out to Pete Pedersen for all that he has done with the City parks and <br />involvement through out all the years. <br />VI. Other <br />Hiring of Architect <br />Scott Anderson Public Works Director recapped a meeting that took place last week <br />with Lori McRosite, discussing the need to hire an Architect for details of the Rice <br />Lake Park Soccer Complex building. Berger asked if Scott Anderson could look into <br />
