IV. Update on Rice Lake Athletic Fields Building
Public Works Director Anderson informed Commission members that the Hugo City
Council approved a proposal from Landform Architects and Engineers for
Architectural services related to the "field house" at the athletic complex.
Taylor explained the sub -committee had interest in the structure being LEED certified
and built green. Research can be done on grants and possibilities of future
educational opportunities at school level if the facility is constructed this way.
V. Hanson Property
Clark went over the meeting held this week with Ken Hansen and his Attorney Dave
Hebert about the property North of CSAH 8, west of Irish Avenue. The property
consists of approximately 126 acres and is going to be listing for sale. A second
appraisal was done and the price has gone up.
Parks Committee is no longer interested in this property for the price it is being
offered at.
All Commission members agreed the City should continue to look at other properties
that are available.
VI. Other
Parker updated the commission that she had discussed baseball participation
numbers with John Petersen the President of White Bear Baseball Programs. The
Parks Commission is interested in having him join a future meeting.
Adjournment
Taylor made a motion, Strub seconded to adjourn the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
All Aye. Motion Carried.
Next Meeting: May 13, 2009
