Kathy Bystrom informed the Commission of the Statewide Health Initiative Program <br />which granted funds to Washington County in the amount of $1.5363 million. <br />Washington County can use these funds, in partnership with local communities and <br />organizations, for the prevention of chronic diseases through promoting healthy school <br />cafeteria, smoking cessation programs and trail development, etc. Bystrom serves on <br />the Washington County Community Leadership Team that works with local communities <br />to utilize SHIP funding to promote healthier lifestyles and activities. <br />The next step is forming a Health Sub -Committee. Derek Larsen and Noel Schmidt <br />volunteered to serve on the Sub -Committee. <br />IV. Community Input Project — Final Report presentation (Erik Cedarleaf-Dahl) <br />Erik Cedarleaf-Dahl presented the Citizen Input Project results to the Commission <br />members. The presentation of the summary included detailed statistical results. <br />Commission members agreed to continue to discuss the results and make <br />recommendations to the City Council. <br />V. Discussion on Lions Park <br />Scott Anderson, Public Works Director, informed that residents in the Lions Park <br />neighborhood have been notified of a neighborhood meeting at the next meeting. This <br />meeting will gather necessary input to move forward on Phase I Lions Park <br />Redevelopment planning. <br />VI. Update on Sledding Party <br />Jim Taylor updated the Commission on the community Sledding Party that took place <br />February 6t", 2010. Approximately 100-150 residents participated and the event was a <br />big success. <br />VII. Update on Hanifl Fields Shelter Design (Scott Anderson) <br />Scott Anderson, Public Works Director, provided copies of the Hanifl Fields Athletic Park <br />Shelter Rendering site plans. <br />X. Adjournment <br />Derek Larsen made a motion, Windisch seconded to adjourn the meeting at 10:00pm. <br />Next Meeting: March 10, 2010 <br />
