Minnesota Youth Soccer Association Rules/Policy has language banning <br />tobacco in any form while present at the playing venue. <br />Tovah Marek, Youth Enrichment Manager at Lakes Area Youth Service Bureau, <br />informed the commission of the youth participation in Forest Lake in attempting to <br />change the policies in their community. Surveys were also taken at the Washington <br />County Fair which showed fair goers would attend more if the grounds were smoke free. <br />Currently the City of Forest Lake has no policy related to tobacco free but it has been <br />presented twice to the City. <br />Taylor made a motion, Berger seconded to direct staff to come up with new language on <br />a policy stating when youth are present within a certain distance from park amenities. <br />Aye: Berger, Clarke, Larsen, Strub, Taylor, Rauschendorfer, Windisch <br />Nay: Birch <br />Motion carried. <br />V. Update on Spring and Summer 2011 Recreation Programs <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner updated progress on the recreation programs for <br />spring/summer of 2011: Skate Camp, outdoor movie night, Movie Night at Oneka <br />Elementary, Lions Den Teen Program a possible soccer camp. Events will be in the <br />spring newsletter that goes out the end of March. Also, the Health Up and Go Wellness <br />Challenge kick-off is set for April 30, 2011. <br />Clarke wanted to discuss trail maintenance. Taylor asked if this could be put on next <br />agenda along with replacing and adding trees to parks. <br />VI.
