Taylor discussed that the Hardwood Creek Tail will be extended South to 140th in 2014 which <br />will provide a safe way to access nearby parks. Taylor thanked Gabrielson for bringing this <br />issue to the Parks Commission. Commissioners agreed that this need will continue to be <br />remembered in future goal setting and planning efforts and residential development continues in <br />the area. <br />Parks commission members commended Tori for all the work put into the request and for <br />bringing this need to their attention. <br />IV. Recreation Program Updates <br />Parks Planner, Shayla Syverson updated with on all current and upcoming recreation events. <br />Park play dates running June 19th through July 26th. Parks hosting included Diamond Point, <br />Arbre, Beaver Ponds and Oak Shore. The activities had solid participation and trends were <br />recognized in attendance subject to weather, location and time. Next summer there will be <br />additional advertising including more flyers and Facebook to get the word out. <br />Skyhawk's Sports Camp was held August 13 — 16th 2012. Sixteen kids signed up and played <br />T -ball, basketball and soccer. The Flag Football Camp, geared towards older youth, was <br />cancelled due to small registration numbers. <br />Kidcreate Studio's Art Camps will be on August 21 — 27th, 2012. Camps include Cuddly Critters, <br />Angry Birds, App art for ipod/phones and a PJ Art Party. <br />Tour de Hugo will be on September 15th, 2012. Sponsors are excited for the event with $1200. <br />in donations received so far. The bike safety rodeo will be included this year and rides are <br />mapped out to be 5, 18 and 26 mile courses. <br />Movie Night in the Park September 14, 2012 at sunset showing How to Eat Fried Worms. <br />Games will start at 7:OOpm and snacks will be provided for the movie. <br />V.
