Parks Planner Shayla Syverson presented an optional process to gather feedback from <br />residents and create a master plan on Lions Park. Staff recommended coordinating the <br />process with Landform. <br />Clarke made a motion, Rauschendorfer seconded to form a sub committee (including <br />Parks Commissioners, Planning Commissioners, residents, EDA Commissioners, <br />Historical Commissioners, members of the Lions Club, etc) to help establish a master <br />plan for Lions Park. <br />All Aye. Motion carried. <br />Parks Commission members volunteering for the Lions Park Master Plan Sub <br />Committee include: Birch, Strub and Berger. <br />Strub made a motion, Berger seconded to direct Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner to start <br />early negotiations with Landform to help with planning of the Lions Park master plan. <br />All Aye. Motion carried. <br />III. Update on the Tobacco Policy <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner updated on the City Council Meeting held May 2, 2011. <br />The City Council did not approve the Tobacco Use Policy. <br />IV. Update on the Health Up & Go Wellness Challenge <br />Schmidt updated on the Health Up & Go Wellness Challenge kickoff that was held on <br />April 30, 2011. Many participants registered for the walking club that meets at 6:30pm <br />on Mondays at City Hall and the event was attended by approximately 50 people. Large <br />interest has already been shown in holding the next wellness challenge. <br />Clarke suggested that a bike club be formed for families or casual bikers and be <br />included next time and asked for future agenda item to include trail maintenance and <br />improvements on the existing paths in Clearwater Creek Preserve Park. <br />V.
