Minutes <br />Parks Commission, City of Hugo <br />January 8, 2014 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Council Chambers, City Hall <br />Call to Order <br />Present: Joan Benner, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Jim Taylor, Tom <br />Windisch <br />Staff Present: Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner <br />Debi Close, Secretary <br />Absent: Rachel Berger <br />Jim Taylor called the meeting to order at 7:03 p.m. <br />I. Approval of Minutes from December Meeting <br />Windisch made a motion, Strub seconded to approve the minutes of the December 11th, 2013. <br />All Ayes. <br />Motion carried. <br />II. Elmcrest Avenue Trail Options <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner reviewed a letter from the Heritage Ponds Neighborhood <br />Association in regards to interest in a trail along Elmcrest Avenue. The Trail and Sidewalk Plan <br />proposes a city trail along the west side of Elmcrest Ave between CSAH 8 and 180'" Street and <br />connections to regional trails. <br />The City of Lino Lakes has proposed commercial projects that would border the West side of <br />Elmcrest. The Parks Commission discussed a preference for the trail alignment shown in the <br />Trail and Sidewalk Plan. City staff was directed to continue discussions with Lino Lakes and <br />research grants programs for trail connectivity. <br />
