Minutes <br />Parks Commission, City of Hugo <br />June 11, 2014 <br />7:00 P.M. <br />Council Chambers, City Hall <br />Call to Order <br />Present: Joan Benner, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Tom Windisch <br />Absent: Rachel Berger <br />Staff Present: Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner <br />Debi Close, Secretary <br />Tom Windisch called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br />I. Approval of Minutes from May Meeting <br />Benner made a motion, Strub seconded to approve the minutes of the May 14, 2014 meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion carried. <br />II. Presentation on BearPower by Alli Zomer <br />Alli Zomer, Project Manager at Health Partners/Children's Hospitals & Clinics MN made a <br />presentation to the Parks Commission meeting about BearPower. BearPower is a community <br />wide movement helping familes eat well and be active. <br />Discussion included current community encouragement on promoting healthy lifestyles. Future <br />planning can promote better food or snack choices available at our City programs/events for the <br />community. <br />III. Recreation Program Policy <br />Shayla Syverson, Parks Planner provided a draft of the Recreation Program Policy for <br />discussion. <br />
