MINUTES <br />HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS <br />NOVEMBER 10 2005 <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Brunotte, Schumann <br />ABSENT: Puleo <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD) <br />Michele Lindau, Community Development Assistant <br />Minutes of September 8, 2005 <br />Schumann made motion, Brunotte seconded, to recommend approval of the minutes of September 8, <br />2005 as submitted. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Variance for Donald and Sheri Schoeller for an Oversized Garage <br />The Board considered the request of Donald and Sheri Schoeller, 12329 126th Street North, for a <br />variance to exceed the maximum size of permitted garage space. The property consisted of 1.12 <br />acres and was located in the Large Lot Single Family Zoning District where the zoning <br />ordinance limited the size of a garage to 1,000 square feet. In addition, the zoning ordinance <br />permitted an 870 square foot accessory structure on lots over one acre in the R-1 Zoning District. <br />The applicant requested approval of a variance to permit a 1,456 square foot garage on their <br />property. The applicant wanted to construct a 572 square foot addition to the existing 884 square <br />foot garage. A 120 square foot shed also existed on the property. The combined square footage <br />of the garage, addition, and shed would be 1,576 square feet. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. There were no comments and Schumann closed the public <br />hearing. <br />The Commission reviewed the variance and had no objections to it. <br />Brunotte made motion, Schumann seconded to recommend approval of the variance for 12329 126' <br />Street North. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
