MINUTES
HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS
July 27, 2006
Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:31 p.m.
PRESENT: Brunotte, Schumann
ABSENT: Puleo
ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD)
Michele Lindau, Community Development Assistant
Minutes of June 8, 2006
Schumann made motion, Brunotte seconded, to recommend approval of the minutes of June 8, 2006
as submitted.
All Ayes. Motion carried.
Variance for Jeff and Cynthia Stickler for Accessory Building
The Board considered the request of Jeff and Cynthia Stickler, 8715 126th Street North, for a
variance to construct a 2,300 square foot accessory building closer to the road than the principle
structure on property described as Lot 3, Block 2, County View Acres. Hugo City Code states
that no accessory building shall be located or protrude in front of the principal building on the
site in relation to any public street.
The CDD explained that the property was 5.9 acres in size and located on the northwest side of
Long Lake. The location of the drainage swale to the southwest of the home and the septic
system to the northeast prevented access to an accessory building if it were located behind the
home. Both the home and accessory building would be visible from the street but screened by
trees from neighboring properties.
Georgiann Bartylla, 8675 126th Street North, stated she was an adjacent property owner and had
no problem with the variance.
Brunotte made motion, Schumann seconded, to approve the variance for 8715 126th Street North,
to permit a 2,300 square foot accessory structure to be located closer to the road than the
principal structure.
