MINUTES <br />HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS <br />JULY 14, 2005 <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Puleo, Schumann <br />ABSENT: Brunotte <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD) <br />Michele Lindau, Community Development Assistant <br />Minutes June 23, 2005 <br />Puleo made motion, Schumann seconded, to recommend approval of the minutes of June 23, 2005 as <br />submitted. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Variance for Deck at 13540 Fiona Avenue North (Falk) <br />The Board considered the request of Jason and April Falk for a variance to construct a porch and <br />deck on their home located at 13540 Fiona Avenue North (Country Ponds). <br />The CDD explained that the applicants were requesting a variance for a front yard setback for <br />construction of an 8' X 14' deck and a 21' X 14' porch addition on their home at 13540 Fiona <br />Avenue North. The structure would be located 17 feet from the front property line. The property <br />is located at the northwest corner of Fiona Avenue North and Fiona Circle North. The property <br />fronts on both streets and ordinance requires a thirty foot front yard setback for buildings in the <br />R-3 Zoning District. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. There was no one there who wished to speak on the <br />request. Schumann closed the public hearing. <br />The Commission found that the proposal met all the standards necessary to approve a variance <br />for a side yard setback. Puleo noted that it was consistent with what had been approved in the <br />past. <br />Puleo made motion, Schuman seconded, to recommend approval of a variance to locate a deck <br />and porch 17 feet from the front property line at 13540 Fiona Avenue North. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />
