MINUTES <br />HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS <br />November 13, 2008 <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Schumann, Galler, Puleo <br />ABSENT: None <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director (CDD) <br />Rachel Simone, Associate Planner <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Approval of Minutes — October 9, 2008 <br />Puleo made motion, Galler seconded, to approve the minutes for October 9, 2008 as presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Tennyson Variance request from shoreland setback to allow a septic system <br />Rachel Simone, the Associate Planner, described the application to the Board of Zoning. <br />Rachel explained that the applicant is in the Rural Residential zoning. The applicant is asking <br />for a variance to allow their septic system to be 45 ft from the ordinary high water mark where 75 <br />ft is required. She added that Washington County has approved the mound and system on the <br />neighboring property. <br />Rachel pointed out that this meets all variance criteria, spirit, intent, and standards necessary, and <br />that staff recommends approval. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. <br />The applicant Dan Tennyson came forth to answer questions from the Board of Zoning. <br />Puleo asked if the pipe would impact Ingersoll Ave. to go underneath the roadway. <br />Mr. Tennyson explained to the Board that the improvements to his septic system would not <br />impact Ingersoll Ave. and would use construction methods to tunnel under the roadway. <br />Schumann closed the public hearing. <br />Schumann explained that this is a common occurrence in this area and sees no issues with the <br />request. <br />
