MINUTES <br />HUGO BOARD OF ADJUSTMENTS AND APPEALS <br />June 23, 2010 <br />Chairperson Schumann called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. <br />PRESENT: Schumann, Weidt <br />ABSENT: Puleo <br />ALSO PRESENT: Bryan Bear, Community Development Director <br />Rachel Simone, Planner <br />Dennis Fields, Community Development Assistant <br />Approval of Minutes — September 23, 2010 <br />Weidt made motion, Schumann seconded, to approve the minutes for September 23, 2010 as <br />presented. <br />All Ayes. Motion carried. <br />Houck — Variance from Parking Requirements <br />Planner, Rachel Simone, described the application to the Board of Zoning. The applicant is <br />asking for a variance from the parking requirement. The existing building at 5525 141St ST N is <br />4,783 Square Feet and is required by ordinance to have 32 stalls. The parking lot currently only <br />has 18 stalls. She explained that parking requirements in Hugo are excessive and that staff feels <br />that 18 stalls is reasonable for this building. Staff recommended approval of the variance request. <br />Schumann asked if there needed to be some changes to the ordinance. <br />Rachel explained that staff will evaluate changes in the future to the City Code. <br />Schumann opened the public hearing. <br />The applicant, Thomas Houck, stated that he had a purchase agreement that was close to being <br />signed and stated that it is a good business that will do minor changes inside the building. <br />Schumann closed the public hearing. <br />Weidt Motioned, Schumann seconded, to approve the variance request. <br />All Ayes, Motion Carried. <br />Adiournment <br />Weidt made motion, Schumann seconded, to adjourn @ 6:42 PM <br />All Ayes.
