Minutes <br />Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission <br />Meeting of December 16, 2015 <br />Hugo City Hall, 7:00 pm <br />Call to Order <br />Present: Rachel Berger, John Pontrelli, Mat Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Ranelle Tennyson, <br />Tom Windisch <br />Staff Present: Scott Anderson, Public Works Director; Shayla Denaway, Parks Planner; Debi Close, Secretary <br />Tom Windisch called the meeting to order at 7:01 pm. <br />1. Approval of Minutes from October Meeting <br />Windisch made a motion, Strub seconded to approve the minutes of the October 14, 2015 Parks Commission <br />meeting. <br />All Aye. Motion Carried. <br />2. 2015 Annual Report <br />Shayla Denaway presented the 2015 Annual Report of the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Commission. <br />3. Goal Setting <br />Parks Planner, Shayla Denaway reviewed the 2015 goals for the Parks, Recreation and Open Space <br />Commission that were approved at December 10, 2014 meeting. <br />There was open discussion: <br />Trails and sidewalk improvements, park dedication, street improvement projects, funding options, Clear <br />Water Creek Park, WBL Senior Study cost sharing, partnering with Keystone Senior Housing, and <br />development of Irish Avenue Park and Lions Park. <br />Windisch stated that he would like trails to be the top priority in 2016. <br />City Administrator, Bryan Bear provided a review of the planning process of Lions Park. He also provided an <br />update on recent interest in developing phase 2 of LaValle Fields to include apartments. This would impact <br />the phasing and funding of the development of Lions Park. The Parks Commission generally agreed on <br />waiting for the apartments to make some of the road improvements needed with Lions Park. <br />
