A RESOLUTION DESIGNATING A NEW POLLING PLACE FOR PRECINCT 3A FOR
ELECTIONS IN THE CITY OF HUGO,WASHINGTON COUNTY, MINNESOTA
WHEREAS,Legislative District 38 is split into two districts, 38A and 3813; and,
WHEREAS,the split in the legislative district divides Ward 3 into two precincts, P3A
and P313; and,
WHEREAS, Ward 3 has a total of 2,876 registered voters, with 2,075 voters in Precinct 3A
and 801 voters in Precinct 313; and,
WHEREAS,both precincts in Ward 3 have voted at the Rice Lake Center in the past
primary and general elections; and,
WHEREAS, the Rice Lake Center has proven to be insufficient in size to accommodate all
election activities for both precincts; and,
WHEREAS, State Statute 2046.16 authorizes the governing body of a municipality to
designate by resolution a polling place for each election precinct; and,
WHEREAS, the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall meets all the legal requirements for a
polling location; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Hugo
hereby designates a new polling place for Precinct 3A as the Oneka Room at Hugo City Hall,
14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the polling places for all elections conducted in the
City of Hugo, Washington County, Minnesota until changed by this Council, are as follows:
Precinct 1 —Hugo Fire Department, 5323 140`" Street North
Precinct 2A and 2B—Oneka Elementary School,4888 Heritage Parkway North
Precinct 3A—Hugo City Hall, 14669 Fitzgerald Avenue North
Precinct 3B—Rice Lake Center, 6900 137'Street North
ADOPTED by the Hugo City Council this 7th day of March2, 16.
