COUNCIL PRESENT: Mayor Weidt, Council Members Haas, Klein
COUNCIL ABSENT: Petryk, Bronk
PARKS COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair Jim Taylor, Commissioners Rachel Berger, Mat
Rauschendorfer, Nicole Schmid, Dave Strub, Joan Benner, Tom Windisch
CITY STAFF PRESENT: City Administrator Bryan Bear, Parks Planner Shayla Syverson
Parks Planner Shayla Syverson provided a background on recreation programming in Hugo
including the programs the City has offered, results of the 2010 survey of residents, and current
field rental and programming practices.
Much of the discussion centered on partnerships and future growth of the City's recreation
programs. The City Council and Parks Commission concluded that the City shall continue to
partner with other organizations and offer and expand programs that are otherwise not available
to Hugo residents.
Discussion also included trails, dog parks, Irish Avenue Park planning, and Lions Park
planning.
