Update on I 35W Managed Lanes Study Todd Polum, principal with SRF Consulting, provided an update on the I 35W Managed Lanes Study. The study extends from downtown Minneapolis to Forest Lake. The purpose of the study is to identify preferred managed lane concepts as well as improvement strategies at spot locations along the corridor. Discussion on Expansion of 35E MnPASS Study to CR 96 Brad Larsen, Minnesota Department of Transportation, provided discussion points on the Expansion of I 35E MnPASS Study to CR 96. This study will develop and evaluate conceptual alternatives for extending MnPASS from Little Canada Road to CR 96 through the remaining bottleneck on 1-35E north of I-694. The study is anticipated to begin during late spring/early summer 2013 and be complete by late spring/early summer 2014. Update on 35E Corridor Improvement Proiects Wayne Norris, Minnesota Department of Transportation, provided an update on the I-35 Corridor Improvement Projects. The projects will include pavement improvements, bridge improvements, implementation of new park and rides, and a MnPASS expansion along the I -35E corridor. These projects will range in dates from 2013 to 2016. I-35 W/E Coalition Meeting on March 7, 2013 Page 2 of 2 Update on Rush Line Corridor Washington County Senior Planner Ann Pung-Terwedo provided an update on the Rush Line Corridor Project. The 275 and 285 express bus routes that serve Forest Lake and Columbus to downtown Saint Paul will remain. When the new Lino Lakes park and ride is established these routes must maintain or increase their current ridership rates in order to remain. Discussion on Transit Service and Transit Taxing Policy in NE Metro City and County representatives had a discussion on transit service and the transit taxing policy in the Northeast metro. Susan Young stated that she would like to see more participation in the transit taxing district from neighboring cities. More assistance will help fund transit services in the area. Updates from Cities and Counties City and County representatives shared updates on their transportation planning and construction efforts. Discussion on Future Meeting Topics/Agendas City and County representatives discussed future meeting topics and agendas. They discussed the desire to talk about water supply/conservation at a future meeting. They considered changing the name of the I -35E Coalition to address issues other than transportation. Set Next Meeting Date Members agreed that there should be future meetings. The City of Hugo shall set a date and send out meeting notifications.
